“I have enjoyed working with a dedicated board and team of volunteers to support business across the peninsula, and now as Business Port Stephens, across the entire LGA.

“It has been a wonderful journey, and I have met many amazing people along the way.

“The time has come to hand the reins to a new leader, and I will be retiring from the board of Business Port Stephens on the 12th August 2021.”

Vice President Robert Reeve will step up as interim President until the board fills the position.

Anderson went on to say, “Thank you for your support over the past four years in my role as President, it has been an absolute honour.”

Anderson is looking forward to seeing the business community at Business Port Stephens’ next Business Networking Breakfast on the 24 June at Shoal Bay Country Club.

She has put her nomination in and is running as a mayoral candidate for the Port Stephens Council election.

“My plans are to serve the people of Port Stephens in a different capacity, I fully intend to stay on the board of Port Stephens Koalas and Rotary Salamander Bay and hope that the community will get behind me in my bid to serve as a Councillor and Mayor for Port Stephens.”
