Treasures galore at Gem Club Auction at Macksville Showground

Macleay Gem and Mineral Club’s annual rock auction.

FOSSILS, minerals, crystals and more will go under the hammer at Macleay Gem and Mineral Club’s annual rock auction on Saturday 29 May at Macksville Showground, 111 Rodeo Drive Macksville.

The Macleay Gem and Mineral Club is a not-for-profit community group, and funds raised at auction go towards the rental and insurance of rooms at the Showgrounds.

The day will start with viewing from 9am and the Auction commencing from 10am.

Light refreshments will be available.

An itemised catalogue of the 150 items will be provided and Club President Chris Mattick and life member Dallas Kemp (Clubs Auctioneer) advise that every child will be given special prizes to help make it a fun event for the whole family.

“The club was founded in Kempsey 50 years ago and recently relocated its club rooms and equipment to Macksville Showground, which now boasts a very well equipped workshop for lapidary endeavours,” said Mr Mattick.

“Experienced members are available every Wednesday to teach and anyone is welcome to attend.”
