A FREE online program to assist residents of the Nambucca Valley with drug and alcohol problems is set to launch on Monday, May 24.

CORE will be delivered online from 9.15am to 1pm, Monday to Thursday, over four weeks, offering support to participants who are unable to attend a long-term residential program.

Run by the team from The Buttery, which also offers residential programs in the Byron Bay hinterland, CORE is an evidence-based model of intensive rehabilitation that provides opportunities for social connection and addresses lifestyle issues such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, mental health and budgeting.

“This concept is not only more cost-effective than residential rehab, it is flexible enough to help people who would never have been able to put their family commitments on hold to seek intensive rehab,” CORE Program Coordinator, Tanya Magnay said.

“As it is an online program, people can take part from their home or another convenient location.

“Additionally, participants who would like to maintain their pharmacotherapy medication and abstain from other substance use are suitable to attend the CORE program,” she said.

Assessment of potential participants is currently taking place for the 24 May intake.

To find out more about the program, visit buttery.org.au or call 02 6687 1111.
