During school term, mothers (and an occasional father) sit and have morning tea and a chat while a willing and energetic band of helpers entertain the children with an array of toys and activities.

The aim of the initiative is to provide a caring environment where mothers can relax, have a cuppa with two hands while establishing social and support networks with other families in the community.

During the past five years over 70 families have connected with Yummies 4 Mummies.

We have joyfully experienced many births, seen our pre-schoolers off to big school, sadly farewelled families who have moved away from the area, and happily welcomed newcomers to our area.

Yummies 4 Mummies has in itself become a family!

A 5th birthday party was held on Wednesday, 25 March where past and present helpers, families and supporters joined with the families to celebrate.

Four of the original families were in attendance with their ‘new’ young children.

Children and mothers were given a birthday gift thanks to the generosity of Carey Mason who donated twirling ribbons which delighted the children.

The mums received a treatment discount voucher from Tea Gardens businesses, Nails by Vicki and Myall Massage Clinic.

Yummies 4 Mummies would like to thank these businesses for their generosity and support, with the vouchers greatly appreciated by the mothers.

Five years on and Yummies 4 Mummies continues to meet a need in the local area and will gather again on Wednesday,  22 April at the St Stephens  Parish Centre (next to the Catholic Church), Witt Street, Tea Gardens.
