For some the Light Up The Dawn will be their way of showing respect for those who have served and continue to serve. For others attending a local service at a cenotaph will be on the calendar. Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au Others still will look up and see the RAAF fly past and send our thoughts to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice be it in the air, on the ground, or at sea. This year in the Myall Coast we will be seeing a range of ANZAC Day activities for veterans and the community to participate in. In Tea Gardens there will be a Dawn Service held at 6.00am in Anzac Park, followed by a 10am March and an 11am Service in Anzac Park. In Bulahdelah a Dawn Service will be held at 6.00am at the Cenotaph, on Mead Street. This will be followed by a March at 10.30am on Crawford Street and an 11am Service at the Cenotaph, on Mead Street. In Gloucester a Dawn Service will commence at 5.30am at the Memorial Clock Tower. This will be followed by a 10.30am March to the Soldiers Club and an 11am Service at the Memorial Clock Tower. In Nabiac there will be a Dawn Service at 6.00am in Nabiac Memorial Park followed by a March at 11am at the Public School and a Service at the Memorial Park at 11.10am. Stroud commemorates ANZAC Day with a March at 8.00am on Cowper Street. Karuah RSL will commemorate the day with a 5:45am march, followed by a 6am service at Cenotaph Park. There will be traditional games of Two-Up at Bulahdelah Bowling Club and in Gloucester at the Soldiers Club. No matter how ANZAC Day is commemorated this year it will be heartening for veterans and their families to once again stop and hold a moment’s silence for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
