Photo: Coffs Harbour City Council. COMMUNITY Curators are currently being sought by Coffs Harbour City Council, to tell the secrets of the region’s past. Council describes a Community Curator as someone from the community who works with the community to bring new stories and points of view. Coffs Harbour Regional Museum has grant funding to train and employ ten Community Curators to find stories for the new museum in the Cultural and Civic Space. If you are curious about the region’s local history and community stories, have a good eye and ear for a story, and love to find the stories that matter, then a Community Curator role could be for you. To become a Community Curator you will attend training and learn about working in a museum, use your networks and experience to find stories, this includes locating objects, photographs and other items that help to tell the story, and work as part of a team to prepare the story for the museum. Community Curators will be employed on a casual basis for up to 75 hours. The project will finish at the end of 2021.
