THE Coffs-Clarence Police District has issued a warning to those who purchase prohibited firearm parts from social media platforms. “The import of prohibited firearm parts as a result of purchases from social media platforms is illegal,” Coffs-Clarence Police recently stated on their Facebook page. According to local police, there has been a spike in people intentionally importing prohibited goods without approval. “If the items are identified as firearm parts regardless of what they are advertised as, you may be committing an offence and could be charged and face legal proceedings with significant penalties,” the Police stated. Border Force have recently detected a large number of these types of items coming into NSW, and a number of people have been placed before the court.
