TENDERS have closed on the provision of survey services for the delivery of the future $1.8B Coffs Harbour Pacific Highway bypass, with four Coffs Harbour based companies throwing their hat in the ring.

Five Sydney based companies have tendered for the Transport for NSW (Roads and Maritime Projects) Coffs Harbour Bypass-Provision for Survey Services for Delivery Readiness, as well as four Coffs Harbour based companies, one company from Port Macquarie, one from the Central Coast area, and one from Victoria.

The tenders are for the provision of qualified survey personnel for survey services during early works on the Coffs Harbour Bypass.

This early work consists of a combination of construction, cadastral and detail survey works in order to facilitate the early works package and delivery readiness.

The long awaited 14-kilometre bypass project will be Coffs Harbour’s biggest ever infrastructure project and will support 12,000 jobs over the life-cycle of the project, including around 2,000 local jobs for the community of Coffs Harbour during construction.

The project is expected to take around five years to complete.

Once completed the bypass is expected to divert 12,000 vehicles per day out of the centre of town, and is expected to save commuters twelve minutes of travel time once the main Coffs Harbour CBD area is diverted and twelve sets of traffic lights cut out.

The first sod was turned on the Coffs Harbour Bypass project in December 2020 by Local Federal Member Pat Conaghan and State Member Gurmesh Singh alongside Deputy Premier John Barilaro and NSW Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole.
