A DPI spokesperson said, “If you’re asking – what the hell is a succession plan and why do I need one? “This first episode Succession Planning Nuts and Bolts with The Experts is for you. “We’ll break down what a positive succession plan looks like, and the risks of not having one. “For farming families, conversations about succession planning can be tough. “The stakes are high, and it can be hard to get everyone on the same page.” The eight part series being released on February 4 features honest and frank first hand accounts of the succession planning challenges with the intention to provide hope and encouragement for our current and future farming families. The Young Farmer Business Program recorded Propagate across the state, talking with farmers who have been through succession or are planning for succession. NSW DPI Young Farmer Business Program Team Leader Alex Hicks said the second season of Propagate uncovers the essential ingredients for a positive succession plan. “Succession planning experts share tips on communication and professional avenues for support and advice to keep family relationships and the farming business on track,” Ms Hicks said. “We talked to farmers with real succession experiences, they were so honest.” Propagate is available now with all eight episodes available to download for free via Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.
