Station Manager Angie Vaughan took up the reins some eighteen months ago and has proceeded to draw on her extensive experience to revamp the station and bring it up to date. “A lot of what was here when I arrived is now obsolete and we are planning to update almost everything. “The pandemic has had an extremely negative effect on our plans, as we were unable to have our young presenters on air, and most of our sponsorship base had to rationalise their spending.” However, Angie has connected with her network of industry professionals to redesign the station’s systems, procedures, and training programs to bring it into line with today’s radio industry expectations. 104.1 CHY FM mission is to Entertain, Inspire, Inform, Educate, and was formed to give a voice to the youth of the Coffs Harbour area, and to bring back the excitement, passion, expression, energy, personality, and exuberance to radio in the region. The new logo and stylised graphics were created by local marketing designer, James Hewitt of Toast Industries and incorporate colours that are connected to the local community. The new website website has live streaming that enables unlimited numbers of people to listen online anywhere in the world and will work on all devices, desktop, laptop, tablet, iPad, and phone. 104.1 CHY FM provides a range of engaging and empowering volunteer opportunities for those who seek to make a valuable contribution to the community through the medium of radio by providing industry-based radio broadcast training, opportunities and mentoring.
