Jordan Oppy, owner of Oppy Entertainment, created the popular free Pub Trivia night quizzes that have run in and around Coffs Harbour for over ten years.

Starting at The Coast Hotel, the games are now played throughout the area and in hotels in other parts of NSW, Victoria, and Queensland.

Jordan told News Of The Area, “I moved to Coffs Harbour about twelve years ago following my heart, and found it challenging to find a job, and I finally found work at The Coast Hotel, where we started trivia nights to encourage weeknight clientele and it has just taken off from there.”

The quizzes have six rounds of ten questions and to cover the number of venues currently running the event without doubling up Jordan must come up with 180 new questions each week.

Oppy Entertainment started by providing DJ’s for weddings and then expanded to include photo booths which proved popular, but Jordan says that the trivia now makes up about 70% of his business.

Since restarting in the wake of eased restrictions venues are seeing an increase in the number of patrons coming back to trivia nights, with occasions where there have been up to 23 teams playing.

Some of the venues currently offering trivia nights are the Coast Hotel on Tuesday nights, Sawtell Hotel on Wednesday nights, and the Toormina Hotel on Thursday nights.

Games are also run fortnightly at Bellingen, Coramba, Glenreagh and Corindi.
