THE Coffs Harbour Creative Arts Group, CHCAG, is for everyone.

They offer many and varied art classes and workshops for beginners to the more experienced. Twice weekly after school Art for kids, social painting, drawing, calligraphy and printmaking, or just meeting with others to enjoy art, it’s all part of their community spirit.

OPEN DAY Saturday 16 January 10am -1pm is great time to visit the gallery for information on class enrolments, demonstrations, social days and special interest art groups.

First term classes commence on Monday 1 February.

Courses are of three, four, six / eight weeks duration and include: Watercolours, Pastels, Acrylics & Mixed Media, Oriental Brush Painting, After school Art for Kids (Tuesdays & Wednesdays) Loose and Luscious Acrylics, Beginners Watercolours, Abstractions in Mixed Media, Mixed Media, Books & Journals, and 3 Printmaking classes.

The first Printmaking class begins on Thursday 28 January; with Aluminium Etching. Due to the popularity of printmaking, several other subjects are offered: Collagraph Printmaking and a twilight (5.30 – 8.30pm) Lino Printmaking class.

Life drawing salon sessions will continue for interested members throughout the year.

On the social side; weekly painting, drawing and printmaking, members meet in a welcoming, friendly environment in comfortable air-conditioned studios.

Special interest groups meet monthly: Porcelain painters on 1st Saturday 9.30 – 4pm.

Coffs Calligraphers 2nd Saturday 9.30 – 4pm.

Coffs Coast Printmakers 4th Saturday 10 – 3pm.

Showground Art Gallery is open 10am to 3pm during the week, Saturdays 10am – 2pm. Located in the Showground, on Pacific Highway (opposite the Bailey Centre). Become a member and enjoy all the benefits that art can bring.
