ATAR success for Medowie Christian School Dux Jessica Lutz of Tea Gardens Myall Coast Port Stephens Port Stephens News by News Of The Area - Modern Media - January 4, 2021 After achieving an ATAR of 90+, Jessica’s dream has now become a reality. AS we near the end of 2020, a year like no other in living memory, we need to take a step back and marvel the achievements of our Year 12 graduates as they finish their academic year and start on the next phase of their life seeking to achieve the goals that they have set themselves, and aspire to. One of those Year 12 students is Jessica Lutz from Tea Gardens, this year’s Dux of Medowie Christian School. Jessica has a dream to become a member of the Royal Australian Navy, to become a Weapons & Electrical Engineering Officer which was a dream she had held for a long time. After achieving an ATAR of 90+, her dream has now become a reality. Thanks to the support and guidance from Barry Whiteman and Rear Admiral (Rtd) Peter Sinclair, Jessica is now off to fulfil her ambition. Following her appointment ceremony, she will spend the beginning of next year completing officer training at HMAS Creswell in Jervis Bay. During the beginning of 2022 Jessica will commence her tertiary engineering studies at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) with the University of NSW in Canberra, alongside her military tri-service peers. Jessica has been working casually at the Hawks Nest Newsagency for the past 3 years and needless to say her departure will leave a large void, however the newsagency’s loss is certainly the Navy’s gain. We wish Jessica all the very best for the future and look forward one day to seeing her in an officers uniform.
