SIX Coffs Harbour swimmers have made a splash at the recent NSW Senior State Age Long Course Championships in Sydney.

The six swimmers all made state finals in their various events at the NSW championships held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

Millie Edwards-Bradshaw finished second in the 12-13-Year-Old Girls 200m Butterfly, and also 4th in the 100m Butterfly, 5th in the 400m Individual Medley, and 6th in the 200m Individual Medley.

Isaiha Phillips finished fifth in the 16-Year-Old Boys 7500m, while Sylas Phillips finished sixth in the 13-14-Year-Old Boys 200m backstroke.

Mitchell Hickey finished seventh in his 16-Year-Old Boys 1500m freestyle event, while Bella Teale came seventh in the 12-13-Year-Old Girls 100m Backstroke, and Lilly Geddes finished ninth in the 14-Year-Old Girls 400m Individual Medley.

In addition to their top ten finishes, the six swimmers recorded over 30 personal best times.

Coach of the super six swimmers Sarah-Jane Weir said they had achieved something special in Sydney.

“These are truly amazing results for our region, and something that hasn’t been achieved in a number of years,” she said.

“To have so many athletes place so highly and rank in the top of the state, some of these events had over 50 competitors so the results are phenomenal,

“These athletes train out of a 20m pool at Harbour Swim School, making these results even more spectacular.”
