In 2020 there have been so many difficult things to deal with.

Bushfires and floods have ravaged the countryside across the nation and COVID-19 has impacted the world on a scale that has taken so many lives.

Here we have been relatively safe however the economic toll and the toll on the mental health of the community cannot be underestimated.

This year more than ever we need to have hope, and we do.

Hope coming from those who lead us, hope coming from those who support us.

Here are some messages from some of our community.

Sharon Blunt President of the Lions Club of Soldiers Point told News Of The Area, “To our Port Stephens Community Soldiers Point Lions Club would like to wish each and every one, a very Happy Christmas and a safe and healthy 2021.

“We will continue to work hard for our community to raise funds that can assist those in need.

“The support of our local community in raising these funds is greatly appreciated,” she said.

Member for Port Stephens Kate Washington said, “This year has presented so many challenges to our community, but together, we have overcome them.

“I’m grateful we can celebrate Christmas alongside our families and loved ones, especially when we see what’s happening overseas.

“I’m mindful of the many families who are facing hardship, who deserve our generosity.

“I’m hopeful that the holiday season will bring everyone much-needed rest, healing and happiness and I wish everyone a safe and peaceful Christmas,” she said.

  1. Merry Yule.
You know the at least 4000 year old festival stolen from the pagans and rebadged and reworked with the christian fairytale.
No news of Fiji and Tonga.
I say 3 cheers for jebus and his great work devastating these poor gullible brain washed cult members. 3 times in one year.
