Led by Student Representative Council (SRC) students and student volunteers, initially the Year 6 students undertook a tour of the school – including the completion of a quiz.

Even current BCS students found this a challenge!

Following the tour, Year 6 undertook a series of mini-lessons with their Year 7 teachers.

Activities included exciting science experiments with Jess Amos, a playdough challenge with Michael Kiernan and personalised badge making with Sue Cross.

Students also enjoyed a sausage sizzle hosted by the SRC and finished the day with Physical Education activities in the Gym with Tyson Oakley.

All students were provided with a ‘Show Bag’ containing important information about starting Year 7 at BCS as well as a few supplies to help with their transition to high school.

Year 7 Advisor Casey Connell said she hoped the day helped to prepare the incoming students for their transition to high school.

“Hopefully, Year 6 students are feeling more confident about their next stage of their educational journey and are looking forward to joining us as much as we are looking forward to having them here at BCS,” she said.
