THANKFULLY, due to the changes in COVID-19 restrictions, Tea Gardens Women’s Bowling Club and Tea Gardens Men’s Bowling Club were able to hold their annual combined Presentation Night on Monday December 7.

On Tuesday 8 December, Social bowls played 3 games of 3 bowls Triples, 18 ends.

Gusty south westerly winds 25 – 30 km/hr made bowling very difficult.

Christine Fossey, Bev Rhodes and Jill McBride were down by just 1 shot on the 10th end (8 v 9) but unfortunately they remained scoreless for the rest of the game.

Losing by 16 shots, 24 v 8 to Dawn Jones, Jean Glover and Dot Dallas. Dawn May, Lynda Richards and Dale Winter had a much “tighter” contest against Jan Coomer, Ingrid Luck and Pat Baker 17 all on the 17th end.

It was great bowling by Dale, taking out the shot bowl on the last end resulted in a win for her team 19 v 17.

Lyn Nightingale, “swinger lead”, Dorothy Thompson and Kayelene Pearson led all the way v Lyn, Sheril Johnson and Bette Saillard winning 19 v 12.

The winners on the day, winning with the highest score were Dawn Jones, Jean Glover and Dot Dallas.

Thursday 10th December: Format for bowls a game of Triples and 2 games Pairs, 12 ends.

A win to Sheril Johnson, Lyn Nightingale and Pat Baker 12 v Ingrid Luck, Pam Gilchrist and Karen McPhie 9.

Bev Rhodes and Maynie Roberts defeated Jill McBride and Dale Winter 16 v 8.

Lynda Richards and Bette Saillard proved to be too strong a combination for Judi Polak and Dot Dallas winning 20 v 8.
