AUSTRALIAN ballet star and now author Mary Li will launch her new novel ‘Mary’s Last Dance’, a sequel to her husband Li Cunxin’s international bestselling memoir ‘Mao’s Last Dancer’ at a free virtual talk on Thursday evening.

Millions fell in love with ‘Mao’s Last Dancer’, finally here is Mary’s story.

Mary had a stellar international career as a principal artist in the 1980s and 1990s, first with the London Festival Ballet and then with the Houston Ballet.

It was there that she met her husband Li Cunxin, a principal artist with the company, and they became partners both on and off the stage.

Mary became a household name when her husband published his bestselling memoir ‘Mao’s Last Dancer’.

Now Mary is telling her side of the story with her own memoir ‘Mary’s Last Dance’.

Mary will be in conversation with Therese Scott from Mosman Library, with the support of the NSW Public Libraries Association.

‘Mary’s Last Dance’ is a powerful and uplifting memoir about chasing an impossible dream, and sacrificing one’s own ambition for the love of a child.

It is a moving and unforgettable story of passion, dedication and devotion, and the highly anticipated sequel to one of the world’s most beloved books.

Numbers are limited for this free virtual event and bookings are essential and can be made at https://tinyurl.com/y3mydtaq.

The presentation will be broadcast online using the Zoom platform on Thursday, 10 December from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
