THE members of the Probus Club of Fingal Bay are finally getting back together having held some smaller outings and activities.

There is much excitement as the group is set to hold its first monthly meeting at the Fingal Bay Sports Club this week since the COVID-19 crisis began.

Julia Redlich of the Probus Club of Fingal Bay told News Of The Area, “Variations in our weather lately – summer sunshine one day, no singing in too much rain the next – plays havoc with arrangement for activities that involve Probus Club members getting together to celebrate the fun and friendship they enjoy.

“So when wind and rain and rough seas meant no-go for Fingal Bay Probus Club members and their planned ferry trip to Tea Gardens!” she said.

Undaunted they set off to the Salamander Tavern where sunshine peeped through on their arrival and members sat down to enjoy the pleasure of good food and wine and lots of conversation.

With the resumption of club meetings the club’s members are excited to be planning regular catch ups and of course a Covid-19 safe Christmas Party is also on the cards.

Monthly meetings take place on the second Monday of every month at 9.30am at the Fingal Bay Sports and Recreation Club, at 100 Rocky Point Road, Fingal Bay.

The group is also planning to resume amended versions of their usual programme of barbecues, walking for pleasure, wine appreciation, book lovers and learning from a range of guest speakers.
