Salamander Bay Child Care Centre conducted a week-long fund raiser for the Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group.

These cheerful kids and their families went all out to support women in need after a team member at the centre was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Judy Watton of the Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group told News Of The Area, “They raised $176.35 for the group.”

Daniel Freeman, the Center Director, was so impressed with the support the group gave to a colleague who is suffering with breast cancer, he wanted to do something for their cause.

Daniel intends to continue with a fundraiser each year, all donations are most welcome to the group as they are a not for profit organisation and all funds raised are through donations or fundraising events such as the “In the Pink Golf Day” and the “In the Pink Breakfast”.

Keeping in the spirit of being creative kids the children at the centre made a mock up cheque and presented it to the President of the Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group Judy Watton.

The cheque presentation was a socially distanced event with Judy Watton standing back from the regular attendees at the Salamander Bay Child Care Centre, however her heartfelt thanks were shared with all the children who participated in the fundraiser.
