Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au Organised by the school’s Parents and Citizens Committee (P&C), the Gourmet Cookie & Biscuit Dough fundraiser drive was a first and a success. Like most community groups, P&C fundraising activities have been constrained by COVID-19 and this was an innovative effort that engaged students while raising funds safely online. In support, the Woody’s Garden Centre purchased ten lots of cookie dough buckets and donated them to the local Meals on Wheels. Loren from Woody’s told NOTA, “We have been fortunate enough that our business has stayed open during this pandemic and we really appreciate each and every one supporting local businesses. We wanted to give something back.” Meals on Wheels has since been busy baking for residents in Hawks Nest, Tea Gardens, Pindimar, North Arm Cove, Karuah, Nerong and Bulahdelah. Watch out for, and support, future school fundraisers. To volunteer at Meals On Wheels, contact the office at 4997 0800. By Sandra MURRAY
