General Manager bcu, Mike Ribbens said, “We’re extremely proud of this achievement and grateful for the ongoing support of our members and the communities that have made this milestone possible.”

To coincide with the 50th anniversary, bcu have announced the return of the bcu Bill Ussher Scholarship as part of a refreshed bcu Bill Ussher Community Program.

“This is an important part of bcu’s history, honouring the legacy of the founding bcu Chairman Bill Ussher,” said Mr Ribbens.

“Supporting our local communities is something we’re passionate about. The Scholarship and Community Program provides an opportunity for us to give back and offer support to local communities in what has been a challenging year for many.”

The bcu Bill Ussher Scholarship will award a total of $20,000 in financial assistance to ten students, trainees or apprentices across the region to help fund their studies or career development.

To further mark the 50-year milestone, bcu have introduced a new tier to the bcu Bill Ussher Community Program.

The Bill Ussher Community Grant will award a total of $50,000 to local community groups or not-for-profit organisations.

Applications are now open and bcu Members are invited to nominate deserving New South Wales and South East Queensland community groups to receive a community grant.

Applications for the Bill Ussher Community Program are now open. For more information, including how to apply, visit bcu.com.au.
