Twice a year the Charitable Foundation provides approximately $750,000 to fund projects and initiatives across regional New South Wales. In the Mid North Coast, the Charitable Foundation previously funded $79,000 to Coffs Coast Legacy for their Two Dogs Sailing veteran wellbeing project. “I encourage Mid North Coast charities to put forward their grass-roots projects that address important local issues. “This year we have improved our application portal and website which now includes a more efficient expression of interest process and improved guidance materials so charities can continue to focus on their important work in the community,” said Ms Leslie. “Since 2003 the Charitable Foundation has approved over $22 million in funding to almost 500 community projects and initiatives, all in regional NSW. “Each successful project is selected for its ability to make a meaningful difference to the lives of people and build healthy, safe and resilient local communities. “We’re looking forward to continuing our work with Mid North Coast charities as together we can improve social and well-being outcomes for community members in need,” she said. Expressions of Interest open on 28 September and close 22 October 2020. All applications are made via the Charitable Foundation’s online portal, accessed via the website at www.newcastlepermanent.com.au/charitable-foundation/funding.
