BIKE riding has always been popular along the mostly flat sea and riverside roads traversing the Myall Coast, providing a healthy change from those solitary winter walks.

Locals have noticed more bike riders on the roads and are urging all to ride safely, wear helmets and for drivers to be on the lookout and give way, especially in school transport hours, near local skateboard parks and BMX tracks.

Talking drivers, the Pindimar / Tea Gardens and North Arm Cove Rural Fire Service were called to assist the occupants of two motor vehicles both which ran off roads within a 24 hour timeframe.

Crews attended the two accidents, one at Nabiac and the other on the Myall Way, Tea Gardens.

Noel from the RFS stated, “Please people, slow down and pay attention. We do not want to meet you this way.”

Neither do the bike riders.

Rumours are swirling that the MidCoast Council is baulking at the additional $400,000 needed for upgrading the Tea Gardens public pool.

Last week the Federal Government contributed $300,000 towards upgrading access.

NOTA has contacted the Council for an update but has yet to receive a response.

Switching to the entertainment front, the Tea Gardens Country Club trivia will jackpot to a new high next Thursday and teams are welcome to register from 6.15pm.

As with all local clubs and pubs, all are open, but entry restrictions remain in place along with strict social distancing and hygiene requirements.

With all those great top shots being shared in NOTA, locals can hone their photography skills with beginner and advanced workshops to be held at the Hawks Nest Gallery.

Renown photographer, Louise Richards, is the workshop coach, sharing years of professional tips and tricks.

Safety is first and foremost at the workshops which are limited to four people and BYO DSLR camera.

Lastly to Stroud, where resident Laura Harvey reported an act of random kindness by Geoff.

Laura shared, “A man stopped me in the street in Stroud. He said he often sees me walking with the pram and would like to give us a gift. He makes rocking horses and he dropped one around this afternoon for Banjo! What a lovely gesture. I just love living in our town with such lovely people. Thanks Geoff, you’re a champ and it was a pleasure to meet you.”
