Registration Day for Myall Coast U3A Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - January 16, 2015January 13, 2015 Myall U3A is encouraging prospective members to attend a registration day next week. Roger Chivers, Chris Klimek, Ray Keipert, Barbara Lyle, Pam Eades, Maggie Buchanan and Pat Foyle The Myall U3A has an interesting program of activities for over 55s, designed to enrich the body, mind and spirit. “Activities include art, choir, garden club, tai chi, physical fitness and education sessions,” Myall U3A publicity officer Maggie Buchanan explained. There is also a weekly presentation every Friday at between 10am and 12pm in the Old Library at Hawks Nest. The presentations are given by retired teachers and professionals and cover a variety of interesting topics throughout the year. “Highlights from last year included a presentation on climate change by environmental scientist professor Howard Bridgman and another engaging presentation by cartoonist Peter Lewis.” Mrs Buchanan said. A new committee has been formed for this year’s Myall U3A, including president Chris Klimek and vice president Barbara Lyle. All committee members will be present on registration day, Friday January 23, from 10 until 12pm at the Old Library, Hawks Nest. “We want people to come along to the registration day and to feel free to ask the committee members any questions you may have.” Membership for a full year is $36 per person.
