Myall Masters Swimmers continued their great form last week at the Raymond Terrace Carnival where ten swimmers competed against much bigger and stronger clubs to come away with sixth place overall out of a total of 24 competing clubs.

This was a great effort where all ten swimmers contributed to the overall score with Jenni Chapman having her first start at an outside carnival where she came a very creditable third in 50m Backstroke and fifth in 50m Freestyle.

Other strong performances were recorded by Chris Sefton, second 40-44 years, Linda Stubbs third 50-54 years, Mal Motum third 60-69 years, Leon Bobako first 65-69 years and Peter King first 80-84 years.

These results are indicating that Myall Masters will perform well in the home carnival in February at Tea Gardens pool.

In home club news, the third heat of the Handicap Super Series was held on Monday evening, 1 December, in a very comfortable water temperature of 26 degrees at Tea Gardens pool with some great swims recorded.

Without doubt, the highlight of the seven heats was the come behind swim of John Estens in heat two who shook off a delayed start and outside interference from the crown to come home strongly with a narrow touch win.

Other heat winners were Ian Sunner, Adrian Reynolds, Jenni Chapman, Kate Maddison, Hugh Jones and Ali Harrison.

Although the season is well and truly underway, we are still joining up new members to Myall Masters Swimming every Monday evening at Tea Gardens pool at 5.30pm.
