This week, over 100 dance students from Medowie and surrounding suburbs participated in their end of year dance concert.

The Dance N Dazzle Studio wowed audiences with an assortment of dance routines.

It caps off a successful year for the Studio, with one of the students being awarded a $500 senior tap scholarship at the Abermain Eisteddfod last month.

The outstanding annual conference was held at St Philips Christian College at Waratah.

Each group performed on the professional stage highlighting their talents in the genres of jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and acrobatics.

Students as young as two strutted the stage wearing a dazzling array of costumes and local celebrity Miss Kim, who will also make an appearance at this week’s Medowie Christmas Carnival, hosted the event.

The students danced their hearts out with this year’s theme Step Back In Time introducing many new students to the dance styles of the past century for the first time.

In October, Intermediate Student Kyara Darcy competed at the Abermain Eisteddfod which has been running for 102 years.

Her performance earned her being awarded their top honour, the Senior Tap Scholarship.

She received prize money of $500.

14 year old Kyara was thrilled to be awarded such a large amount of money and has already put the money into a bank account towards a car in a few years’ time.

Dance ‘n Dazzle Studio will be performing a segment at the Rotary Medowie Christmas Carnival this Friday.

Big things continue for the Studio and they will be celebrating their 25th year in Medowie in 2020.
