Twenty eight teams competed in this event and I am pleased to announce that our ladies came third. A great effort against some very stiff opposition. Thursday 14th November: Round 2 of the Novice Consistency Competition, remember this event is only open to those who have bowled less than 5 years. Judi Polak v Trish Ward and Bette Saillard v Bev Dunn. Judi and Trish did battle for 28 ends Judi took an early lead, winning 155 v 125. Great bowling by both these contestants especially considering Trish has only been bowling 7 months and Judi 20 months. Bette and Bev have both been bowling nearly 5 years Bev had an 8 shot lead on the 4th end. The next end Bette gained 9 points equalising the score. The next 8 ends saw Bev holding a narrow lead then once again “even Steven”. The turning point in this competition came on the 21st end, Bette gained 10 points and never looked back, claiming victory on the 27th end 152 v 118.
