This week’s awards were handed out by the convenor of all things PBL, Ms Merri Brady, Raymond Terrace Community PBL Team Leader and teacher at Irrawang Public School.

Ms Brady said, “I feel privileged to see the growth and success of PBL inside and outside of our schools which in turn helps out students reach their full potential.”

Ms Brady is at Raymond Terrace MarketPlace each week supporting students as they receive their awards.

This week’s winners are:

Cade Bink, Grahamstown Public School: For demonstrating the value of respect. During Book Week, Cade brought in six costumes for students who may not have had their own. He even brought in different sizes to cater for all students. Cade really wanted to help all the students and make sure everyone was in the spirit of Book Week.

Aaliyah Newbury, Irrawang Public School: For taking responsibility and care for her younger sister to and from school. Aaliyah always crosses the road safely holding onto her sister’s hand ensuring they get to school safely.

Abby Keeley, Irrawang High School: Nominated for the exemplary way she represented our school PBL values at the Legacy Public Speaking awards, and also adjudicating the primary schools Lions Junior Public Speaking competition last term.

Jadah Brown, Seaham Public School: Jadah was a fantastic help at our recent Seaham fete. She went above and beyond to help during the day, particularly during the clean up at the end.

Ruby Partridge, Raymond Terrace Public School: For demonstrating the PBL community values by reminding a fellow skateboarded to act responsibly at Boomerang Park. The award was recommended by a community member present at the skatepark.

Bridie King, Karuah Public School: Two community members nominated Bridie for separate occasions. The first nomination was for her outstanding behaviour during a community event at the Karuah Oyster Festival. The second occasion was for her kind and caring nature towards her peers at tennis.

Oscar Smith, Medowie Public School: For his valuable assistance to both students, staff and the community during the school’s musical, Travel Through Time.

Maddison Cunningham, Hunter River High School: Nominated for continuously supporting the Cerebral Palsy Alliance’s Run Squad program. Maddison support both teems with and without disabilities, providing them with the opportunities to build fitness skills and self-confidence. Your kindness and care have a great deal of impact.

Lily Peters, Salt Ash Public School: For always demonstrating our school PBL values of being a positive, respectful and safe learner. Lily has also demonstrated confidence in standing up for someone who wasn’t being treated very fairly.
