This couldn’t be more true for one local tradie who manages to fit surfing into his busy life.

At the 2019 Tradies Surfmasters those normally on the tools spent a day carving it up.

Fern Bay’s 3 – Michael Hoysted was placed 3rd in his category of over 50’s men in the event which took place at Cronulla.

Hoysted had a successful day at the picturesque location on two-foot waves in balmy 28-degree weather.

Newcastle’s Paul Snow from Merewether also did well taking out the Over-35 and Over-40 Men’s division. The competition for Hoysted was strong in the over 50’s mens division with Former Australian Champion and Cronulla stalwart Glenn Pringle ( taking out the Over-50 Men’s division.

Pringle shone in the final, posting a respectable 14.10 two-wave total for a variety of giant swooping turns.

Also recently doing well in the surf is Port Stephens Grommet Eden Hasson of Boat Harbour who took fourth place in the under 14 boys in the recent Woolworths Surfer Groms Competition which was held at Coffs Harbour.

Ethan Smith of Surfing NSW told News Of The Area, “Port Stephens has some great surfers in all age groups and we are looking forward to seeing more of their talented performances in coming weeks.”
