Hawks Nest Motor Club start to prepare for Motorfest 2020

“We are pleased to welcome to our Motor Club a 1967 BJ8 Austin Healey 3000, red in colour & in pristine condition. I have the only other Austin Healey in our local car club, however the BJ8 has wind up windows not sliding like mine,” Michael Latty from the Club told News Of The Area.

Austin Healey 3000’s have a long competition history and have raced at most major racing circuits around the world including Le Mans, Sebring and Mount Panorama, Bathurst.

The Car Club are getting preparing for the next Motorfest event and recently held their Annual General Meeting with all officers being reinstated unopposed.

President is Juergen Seil, Vice President is Ranald Mackay, Secretary is Ross Anderson and Treasurer is Graham Kelly.

In readiness for Motorfest 2020, the Club are presently preparing the traditional display flyer for the event sponsors.

Later this month an invitation kit will be issued to 140 N.S.W. Motor Clubs inviting them to participate in the area’s Motorfest event, held at the sports ground in Hawks Nest.

Mr Latty said, “Proceeds from the day are donated back to local community groups.”

Previous beneficiaries were the Surf Lifesaving Club, the Community Bus and the Pindimar Tea Gardens Rural Fire Brigade.

“In addition, on 26 October this year at the Myall River Festival, Club members will once again take part, filling Maxwell Street with Veteran, Vintage, Classic and unique cars for locals and visitors alike to admire,” Mr Latty said.
