A well-known local identity, having played for the Newcastle Knights as a foundation player in 1988, he grew up in Dungog.
Mr Townsend has been a Police Officer for over 30 years and currently holds the portfolio of Aboriginal Engagement Officer.
This week’s award winners include:
Max Owens, Grahamstown Public School: Max handed a wallet into Centre Management at MarketPplace that he found in Blooms Chemist. Max always displays responsible behaviour and is extremely trustworthy.
Grace Outtrim, Medowie Public School: For assisting students during the Showcase concert at Irrawang High School.
Grace was observed helping younger students in the holding rooms and in escorting students around the grounds.
Blair Soars, Hunter River High: Nominated for his leadership and sportsmanship. Blair consistently demonstrates a positive attitude to all aspects of his education, family and community.
Caitlyn Bird, Seaham Public School: Caitlyn is an outstanding school citizen. She organises activities for younger students and assists other students during maths lessons.
Simon Emanuel, Karuah Public School: Simon always follows Karuah Public School values of respect, responsibility, and pride. Simon is often observed in the community riding his scooter safely and with the appropriate safety gear.
Kaitlyn Taylor, Irrawang Public School: Nominated for volunteering at Breakfast Club every school week for the past two years. Outstanding display of our school PBL values.
Hayley Lewis, Raymond Terrace Public School: Hayley displayed the PBL values of acting responsibly and respect when representing the school at the Hunter Dance Festival in Newcastle.
Maddaline Logan, Salt Ash Public School: For demonstrating leadership skills at Hunter River High School’s Showcase performance during the finale, by organising a number of younger students safely into position on the stage.
