And production it was with models proudly donning garments from all stores across our twin towns whilst having fun walking and sometimes dancing to the wonderful upbeat music provided by Jomeka and showing the public that all the time that they had devoted to rehearsals had come to fruition on the big day. Compere, Maggie Nadal, complemented and entertained the audience as well as providing the audience with background information on the individual participating retail outlets and quirky quotes from various celebrities. Not forgetting the main thrust of the Fashion Show being a fundraiser for the Isabella & Marcus Foundation, Carole Richards, in her thank you speech, reminded everyone about the charity that had been chosen and said, “This charity was extremely poignant as one of the models granddaughters had passed away within fifteen months of being diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. Carol went on to say, “When organizing an event of this nature, it is a little like the captain of a ship having a good crew and I certainly have had a great crew with all the models and everyone who has assisted, including backstage helpers, in making this Fashion Show such a huge success. “I would also like to extend warm thanks to the management and staff at The Grange for providing the venue for the Fashion Show and assisting in the set up and dismantling and not forgetting the Lions members who also helped and provided scrumptious cakes to enjoy with tea and coffee.” Our local Lions Club should be very proud of themselves as this event has raised a mighty sum of $4300.00 which will be given to the Isabella & Marcus Foundation for their ongoing research. News Of The Area congratulates the Lions Club Tea Gardens for this wonderful effort. By Ann SCULLY
