Police appeal for information following alleged assault near Forster Regional News by NOTA - November 6, 2014 Police are appealing for possible witnesses to come forward following an alleged assault at Wallabi Point, near Forster, this morning. Shortly before 11am (Thursday 6 November 2014), officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Local Area Command were called to Saltwater National Park after reports a woman had been assaulted. Police launched an investigation a short time later and established a crime scene at the location. A woman, of unknown age, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Manning Rural Referral Hospital. Local officers, with assistance from the Dog Unit and PolAir are conducting extensive searches of the surrounding area. Investigators are continuing their inquiries and are appealing for anyone with information that could assist them to come forward. In particular, anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Saltwater Reserve on Saltwater Road at Wallabi Point around 10.30am today, is urged to contact Taree Police Station on (02) 6552 0399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
