Members of the Fingal Bay Probus Club opted to encourage some warmer weather at a recent barbecue which was held at a very wind-blown Conroy Park.

Julia Redlich told News Of The Area, “Under instructions from Probarian Verlaine Griffith the events temporary organiser, in the absence of holidaying Ross Jennings the day saw barbecued chicken served with champagne salads, plus some delicious caramel slices to enjoy with our tea and coffee.”

Some members decided to miss the chilled champagne in favour of something less bubbly, but the magic certainly worked with some warm sunshine arriving at the weekend to herald spring.

The Probus Club of Fingal Bay meets on the second Monday of each month at 9.30am at the Fingal Bay Sports and Recreation Club, at 100 Rocky Point Road, Fingal Bay.

Probus offers a selection of activities to enjoy the fun and friendship with fellow members.

These include barbecues, a book lovers’ club and walking for pleasure.

The club invites a variety of guest speakers and new members, guests and visitors are always welcome.
