FOR many years, the Red Cross Big Cake Bake day has been a special event for this hard working group in our community and this year will be no exception with the goodies on sale at the Myall Quays Shopping Centre Market Day to be held on Saturday, 21 September 2019 between 8.00am and 2.00pm.

Officially, Red Cross holds the Big Cake Bake during the month of October but our local group holds their event during the month of September mainly to coincide with the Market Day.

Eight to ten Red Cross ladies will work on a roster system to man the stall on the day as well as having done most of the cooking so that there will be a wonderful array of goodies for purchase on the day.

In addition to the ladies doing the baking, many members of the community always donate generously to the cause by dropping off their favourite recipes to the stall.

Newly appointed President of the Red Cross, Helen Janes told News Of The Area, “We are extremely grateful to members of the community who make these donations and all funds raised will go directly to the Australian Red Cross.”

If you wish to donate some goodies to be sold at the stall but cannot get there on the day, please call Co-ordinator Janet Baker on 4997 0043 to arrange for pickup or delivery.
