Stockton and Magnus Streets Nelson Bay were closed to traffic. The Apex Park stage faced the new terraced seating giving festival goers plenty of places to stop and enjoy the fine fare on offer. The festival spilled over into Port Stephens restaurants, and even art galleries got into the spirit, with the Artisan Collective’s Salted exhibition which was displayed in various shop fronts around the business precinct. While Moonshadow TQC held a jazz cruise on the bay that delivered not only great food, wine and music but a good show of dolphin watching as well. While the weekend coincided with Father’s Day there were plenty there to celebrate all things Port Stephens as well as the odd dad knocking back a cold one on Sunday while enjoying the free entertainment. From wonderful cooking demonstrations from chefs, to trying the local craft beer from Murrays Brewery there was something for everyone. Hot Potato wandered the streets entertaining with their brass and the stages featured locals Footloose as well as bands from Newcastle and further afield. Tastes at the Bay was originally started by a group of businesses on the marina precinct. It is now the crowning jewel in the Love Seafood festival. Tomaree Business Chamber currently deliver the event. Chamber President Leah Anderson told News Of THe Area, “We are pleased with the event and merging tastes with Love Seafood has definite advantages. “In 2019 Chamber contracted Port Stephens Events to deliver the events on our behalf and that worked really well,” she said.
