All men in the community are invited and encouraged to event that will be held at the Brocklesby Road ‘little bush’ church, just down from the Little Tin Shed.

The event is free of charge and is an open invitation to men of all ages and will include a breakfast of bacon, sausages, eggs and tea or coffee can be enjoyed before the talk.

In an interview with News Of The Area, Mr Hudson said, “The whole purpose of the day is for a group of men to come together for a meal and enjoy the fellowship.”

He said, “I will be informing the group about my reasons for joining the Police.”

“I will be describing many of the incidents that I attended during my career including many motor vehicle and industrial accidents as well as many railway accidents resulting in fatalities.”

“Included in the mix will be details about a couple of shootings where on one occasion I was working one-out and singularly disarmed an offender who had shot a victim in the head.”

“I also attended quite a few bushfires which destroyed large areas of bush and quite a few homes.”

Mr Hudson has many interesting experiences to share and said, “During the Vietnam war years I was appointed to a group of police working the beat in Kings Cross area.”

Since retiring Mr Hudson has been kept busy doing volunteer work.

Of note, is his role with Police Legacy, providing support for retired and former Police Officers who may be experiencing post-traumatic stress.

With his wife, Mr Hudson moved to Medowie almost two decades ago and since then has performed supervision duties of local performing Community Service Orders.

At the breakfast Mr Hudson will also be explaining his Christian journey which began about 1959 and continues now.
