Tickets were sold at $20.00 per person entitling guests to Finger Food and music which was the entertainment for the evening.

A raffle was conducted throughout the night with the three prizes being donated by David Ellem with the first prize, a 65 inch television and was won by Lindsay from Oceanside with second and third prizes comprising a $100.00 voucher and a $50.00 voucher and the lucky winners of these prizes were Trudy and Fred from Tea Gardens and Wil Healey.

After the raffle, there was an auction with people bidding for hundreds of items, all donated by local businesses and people in the community with prizes ranging from artworks, camping equipment, cooking utensils and fishing gear.

Special highlight of the evening was the winning of the main item in the auction, an Indigenous painting by Rachel Syron which was won by two very excited locals, Brian and Judy Clarke.

Organiser of the benefit night, Rob Smith, told News of the Area, “It was a fantastic evening and I cannot believe the generosity from the people living in our community.

“I, personally, would like to thank all the sponsors and everyone from the community who attended the event and also the people who volunteered their time to make Jack’s night so special and successful,” Rob said.

Jack’s Mum, Shell, told News Of The Area, “Jack and I would like to thank everyone who donated and came to the fundraising night and we really do appreciate the love and support we have received at this hard time.

“We are so lucky to have such beautiful, caring friends who have helped us get through the past few months.”

All proceeds raised will be placed into a Trust Fund to assist with Jack’s education and sporting activities.
