This weeks award recipients are all well deserving with students from nine local schools receiving their awards.

Councillor Giacomo Arnott who presented the awards told News Of The Area, “Since the PBL program started, Raymond Terrace has become a more pleasant place to live and visit. It’s always a pleasure to attend and give my personal thanks to the children who have done so well, and to show my appreciation to the teachers and staff who make this program happen.

“Marketplace Raymond Terrace are huge supporters of our community and they host the PBL awards every week – be sure to get along and see it all in action some time soon,” he said.

Medowie Public Schools Amber Wilks received her award for her inclusive attitude and empathy towards a student that needed to be included.

Hunter River High School’s Emily Docking was nominated for her demonstration of leadership skills at netball.

Jack Hill of Grahamstown Public School was also nominated for leadership which he displayed during plant a tree day.

Taleeka Pogmore was nominated for being a team player.

Irrawang High Schools Kasey Tyson demonstrated honesty by handing in a large amount of money which was returned to its owner.

Dane Howarth is a great member of his school community always delivering when asked to do a task.

Salt Ash Public School’s Scarlett Tone is a junior environmental warrior who spent time in the holidays picking up rubbish from her local beach.

Seaham Public School’s Blaze Drew is also caring of the environment spending time cleaning up the playground and collecting rubbish.

While Wyatt Cottrell of Irrawang Public School demonstrated sportsmanship and endurance by filling a place in a team and backing up for a second game of soccer.

The News Of The Area congratulates these students for their commitment to our community, and I will be proudly presenting the students awards on 15 August at MarketPlace Raymond Terrace.
