The Koori Kids performance group from Bulahdelah Central School have celebrated NAIDOC week in a variety of ways.

The secondary performers were presented with their performance jackets featuring a Pauline Syron-Coxon (Bulahdelah Central School Captain 1988) painting.

They travelled to Coolongolook and Bungwahl Primary Schools to share culture and focus on the NAIDOC 2019 theme of ‘Voice Treaty Truth’.

As part of their presentation they performed traditional dances, sang in Koori language and led Primary students in a variety of Indigenous games.

At Bungwahl Primary School they were fed a meal prepared by the students of Bungwahl utilising produce from their school garden and Indigenous garden.

Michelle Gray Aboriginal Education Co-ordinator said, The performance group also visited Nerani for a quick photo shoot to highlight their fantastic new jackets.”

“Term 3 they will be travelling to Booral Public School for another NAIDOC presentation and will be scheduling some events in the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest area,” Ms Gray told News Of The Area.
