The Group get together enabled a cheque handover of $1000k from the Pearls to finalise the purchase of a new Spirometer for the hospital.

A spirometer is an apparatus for measuring the volume of air inspired and expired by the lungs.

A spirometer measures ventilation, the movement of air into and out of the lungs.

Spirometry is used to diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other conditions that affect breathing.

“Combined with donations received from a Police charity golf day; the Women’s Auxiliary & the Hospital this cheque will now see the purchase go ahead,” said Irene Worth from the Women’s Auxiliary.

“This is the second time the Pearls have donated to the Hospital, to help purchase equipment needed.”

“Thank you again to staff for their generous hospitality,” said Ms Worth.
