Six teams of Fours, travelled to the other side of the bay, we were hoping to retain the Trophy. Lemon Tree Passage have won this event just once in the 5 years it has been held, this year despite our best efforts TGWBC were not the victors losing 101 v 105, so close! A fun day, enjoyed by all many thanks to LTPWBC for hosting a great day.

Thursday 4th July: Due to rain numbers were down, play started late and unfortunately bowling was cut short due to constant showers. An opportunity for Kayelene Pearson, Lynda Richards, Robyn Webster and Dale Winter to have some practice for the District Pairs. Only 6 ends bowled, result 5 all. Ingrid Luck, Lorraine Murphy and Karen McPhie were leading 10 to nil against Trish Ward, Frances Boehms (visitor) and Liz Kelly when play was abandoned.

Deyonne Page, Carol Hayden, Bette Saillard and Dot Dallas 11 v Judi Polak, Pam Gilchrist, Jill McBride and Maynie Roberts 2 after 6 ends.

Saturday 6th July: The first round of NDWBA weekend Pennant. This is the first year this event has been held, 12 teams from the District are competing. Robyn Beaumont, Lynda Richards, Robyn Webster and Kayelene Pearson had an “away” match against Merewether. Our ladies are off to a good start in this competition winning 20 v 8. Round 2 will be played at home on Saturday 13th July against the Soldiers Point “Chicks”.

Good luck to our 4 teams competing in the District Pairs commencing Monday 8th July.

Coming events: 16th July: AGM followed by social bowls and lunch. 18th July: Versatility Day. 23rd July Grange RSL LifeCare Day.
