The Power were quietly confident approaching the fixture welcoming back Leaf Wade, a founding member of the club, who had been out of action since last year with an ACL tear.

Josie Jones from Port Power said it was great to have Leaf back in action for her beloved football club and the whole team were all behind her in her recovery.

“Leaf has been the lynchpin for our club,” said Ms Jones.

“She has been our ground manager, water runner, goal umpire and head cheerleader whilst she’s been on the mend,”

“To see her back playing the game she loves was phenomenal!”

Terrigal Avoca were all class in their playing style moving the ball around the park with a high level of skill and confidence that allowed them to score with ease.

The Power were down 58 points at the half and there was no coming back from that position.

Chey Neu and pocket rocket Kayla Pennicott were able to run away in the fourth quarter for open shots on goal but could only manage a couple of behinds.

The game was televised on Bar TV which Ms Jones says will give the Power a valuable opportunity to analyse the match and make some needed improvements.

“We can look back over the performance and learn from it and work on our structures,” said Ms Jones.

The Power play Singleton at home this Saturday at Ferodale Oval, Medowie. Kick-off is at 12pm.
