The Power were coming off the back of a gutsy 40 to 27 win against Gosford last week and were full of confidence coming into the match.

The Dockers came out of the gates strong in the first quarter booting five unanswered majors and the Power couldn’t reel them back in from there.

Young gun Ash Craddock was relentless in defence for the Power slowing the Dockers scoring abilities down after some first half evaluation at the main break.

In the final term the Power were hungry for a goal and with time running out and the players battle worn from the soggy conditions Amanda Cherry middled one to bring some spark back into the side.

Josie Johnson from the Power was happy with the teams performance but conceded that to win the chocolates they needed to start stronger than this week’s game.

“We were proud of our efforts in the last three quarters but we really let them get away in the first,” said Ms Johnson.

“We have improved so much this season and will continue to train hard and chase those elusive goals.”

Best on ground were Dominique Strain, Leonie Midgley, and Finlay Burnett.

The Power travel to Hylton Moore Oval on 12 June to take on Terrigal Avoca.

The Power train Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30pm at Ferodale Oval, Medowie and welcome all ladies in the Port Stephens area to give AFL a go.
