Round 6 of the Newcastle District Pennant Competition was played today with the First National Grade 4 side playing Karuah at home.

It was a case of Tea Gardens winning the battle but losing the war as Tea Gardens won two of the three games.

The John Parkinson team was the most successful winning 20-17.

The Keith Smith side won a close won 17-16 but the remaining game the Karuah team won by too many shots for Tea Gardens to take the match.

Karuah winning 61-51.

Grade 6 played away at Wallsend and it was a similar story to that of the Fours.

The Leigh Hunt combination stood out for Tea Gardens with a great win 26-13 and the Noel Jackson team dropped an unfortunate 5 on the penultimate end to lose their game 19-22.

The remaining Tea Gardens team were never in the game and were soundly beaten 12-28.
