Inquiries continue into fatal stabbing at Port Macquarie

Detectives investigating a fatal stabbing in Port Macquarie last week are appealing for further witnesses to come forward.

Emergency services were called to Horton Street just after 1.30am on Sunday 21 September 2014, where they found a man with stab wounds to the chest.

It’s alleged four men were involved in a fight outside a bank before the stabbing.

The 25-year-old was taken to hospital; however, he died a short time later.

Detectives from the Mid North Coast Local Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad launched an investigation into the incident.

Two teenagers – a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man – were arrested and charged over the alleged murder.

Strike Force Semple was established by local detectives as inquiries continue into the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the altercation or who was in the vicinity of Horton Street that morning is urged to contact Port Macquarie Police Station on (02) 65830199 or Crime Stoppers.
