Tea Gardens traffic delay, lane closed north of Myall Way FEATURED Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - October 2, 2014October 3, 2014 Motorists travelling on the Pacific Highway are experiencing significant delays in Tea Gardens and between Tintenbar and Ewingsdale this afternoon. As at 2:00pm 2nd October 2014 One of two southbound lanes of the Pacific Highway is closed about seven kilometres north of Myall Way in Tea Gardens due to a car and caravan accident. Traffic is heavy with southbound motorists queued about two kilometres from the accident site. Emergency services are at the accident scene and a rescue helicopter has landed to treat an injured occupant of the car. Additionally, there are two kilometre queues for motorists travelling south on the Pacific Highway between Tintenbar and Ewingsdale due to heavy holiday traffic as people begin travelling for the long weekend. Motorists travelling in both areas are advised to allow plenty of additional travel time and to expect significant delays. In the state’s north: Motorists travelling northbound on the Pacific Highway between Tintenbar to Ewingsdale are queued about four kilometres adding around 15 minutes extra travel time. Northbound motorists on the M1 Pacific Motorway travelling through Mardi are experiencing significant delays around Cobbs Road. Heavy traffic on the M1 Pacific Motorway approaching John Renshaw Drive at Beresfield has eased, as has heavy southbound traffic on the New England Highway at Tarro now a multi vehicle accident near Anderson Street has been cleared. In the state’s south: Motorists travelling southbound on the Princes Highway between Berry and Kiama are queued five kilometres adding around 30 minutes extra travel time Meanwhile heavy traffic on the Great Western Highway heading over the Blue Mountains is beginning to ease after earlier delays due to holiday traffic and a multi vehicle accident at Railway Avenue in Faulconbridge.
