Teen charged following stabbing at Lake Macquarie Regional News by NOTA - October 1, 2014 A teenager has been charged following the stabbing of a girl in the Lake Macquarie area overnight. About 9pm (Tuesday 30 September 2014), police were called to bushland near Flaggy Creek Reserve, Kahibah, after reports of a stabbing. It’s believed two teenage girls, aged 17 and 18, were socialising with a group of people before getting into a fight. Police will allege that during this fight, the older girl used a pocket knife to stab the younger teen to the chest, stomach, arms and hands. Emergency services were notified and the injured girl was taken to John Hunter Hospital where she remains in a stable condition. The 18-year-old was arrested nearby and taken to Charlestown Police Station, where she was charged with reckless wounding and granted strict conditional bail, to appear before Belmont Local Court on Wednesday 22 October 2014.
