Valerie Mobbs told News Of The Area, “Christine Sefton, Leon Bobako and Chris Lock represented the club very well with podium finishes for all three in each event entered.”.

“Christine won a first along with two second places, Leon with two first places and a second place and Chris ended the meet with a first, second and third placing.”

“Masters Swimming is all about fun, fitness & friendship and the meets could not happen without the swimmers undertaking training in the various tasks required to run the meet,” Valerie said. “Timekeepers, starters, marshalls, the list goes on, are needed for every event and the swimmers carry out these tasks in between their swims.”

Myall Masters President Chris Lock recently received his qualification as an official starter.

“Congratulations to Chris and all the members of our club who undertake the voluntary training for the various tasks so that the meets can run smoothly.”

The Myall Masters Swimming Club is also holding it’s Jimmy’s Beach Open Water Swim again this year.

It will include the Chris “Mobbsy” Mobbs memorial 1.5 kilometre and 600 metre swim along the Hawks Nest stretch.

The Jimmy’s Beach swim is being held on Sunday 11 November.

Entries open on Saturday 1 September.
